- Hello everybody,
-
- I have a strange problem with the mouse pointer
- on my Amiga 2000Rev4.3/030/WB3.1/2MB chip-ram..
-
- Often, but not always, when I turn on my machine, the mouse pointer
- goes to the left no matter how I move the mouse. I can manage to
- move the mousepointer to the right side of the screen by moving the mouse
- very fast, but soon it goes back to the left very fast and stays there.
- It acts as if it's trying to jump off the screen on the left side. Of
- course it always stops there... :) but this is very irritating and
- sometimes I cannot use the machine at all because of this.
-
- If I manage to open one or more screens (like NComm), the mouse pointer
- usually takes a break and behaves for a while, but even this does not always
- happen.
-
- I have opened the box and pushed all the chips on the motherboard to make
- sure they are properly seated. This has usually fixed the problem for a
- while. But I am tired of having to open the box every two weeks or so to fix
- it.
-
- Could someone please tell me which chip, or even which pin on which chip
- on the Amiga 2000 motherboard that most likely causes this behavior of the
- mouse pointer? Then maybe I can fix the machine more permanently with a
- soldering iron.
-
- Any suggestion would be appreciated,
-
- Per G.
